Welcome to Genesis, Ambassador.

You just joined something real. Here's everything you need to get started. No fluff, no corporate training modules. Just the honest version.

STEP 1

Pick your first market

Think about the farmers market or farm stand you already visit. The one where you know the honey lady's name, or you always grab the sourdough before it sells out. That's your starting point.

STEP 2

Talk to a farmer

This isn't a sales pitch. You're a neighbor telling another neighbor about something useful. Here's what works:

"Hey, I'm helping out with a project called Genesis. It's a free platform where customers can leave reviews for local farmers and makers. Think of it like Yelp, but only for people who actually make things. No corporations, no chains. Can I help you set up a profile? Takes about five minutes."

The best ambassadors don't pitch. They share. If you believe in what you're doing, the farmer will feel it.

STEP 3

Help them get set up

Setting up a farmer profile takes about 5 minutes. You can do it together on your phone right at their booth. You'll need:

Once they're set up, customers can find them just by searching their name on genesislocal.org — most vendors already have their name on their tent or table, so there's nothing extra to do. If the farmer wants a booth sign with a QR code, you can print one for them — but it's optional, not required. Search always works.

STEP 4

Spread the word (gently)

When you're shopping at the market, mention Genesis to other shoppers. Not a hard sell. Just a nudge:

"If you liked that, look them up on Genesis and leave a review. It really helps small farmers get found."

That's it. One sentence. You're not a salesperson. You're a neighbor who cares about local food.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Things farmers ask (and what to say)

"What's the catch?"

There isn't one. Genesis is free. We're mission-driven, not profit-driven. We don't take a cut, we don't sell data, and we never will.

"I'm not good with technology."

That's why you have an ambassador. You'll set it up for them. All they need to do is display a small sign at their booth. Customers find them by name or code.

"What if I get a bad review?"

You can respond to any review. And honestly, a few honest reviews (even mixed ones) are way more credible than no reviews at all.

"Is the QR code safe to scan?"

Yes. It's just a link to the farmer's Genesis profile page. That's it. No tracking, no data collection from the scanner. You can also just type the URL directly if you prefer.
