The Problem

Right now, most makers are invisible unless someone already knows your name. Farmers markets can cost $25 to $40 a booth, and after that, you're still depending on foot traffic and luck.

Yelp and Google weren't built for local food makers. You're buried under sponsored listings, chain stores, and noise. Most of your neighbors have no easy way to find you, follow you, or tell other people you exist.

Genesis was built by a family in upstate New York that buys steaks from the farmer down the road and eggs from a neighbor whose kids name their chickens. Once you eat real food from real people, grocery stores feel like a lie. That's what started this.

Common Questions

Honest feedback builds trust. If a review is fake or from someone who never bought from you, the community can flag it. Reviews with multiple flags get a warning label, and neighbors can add context notes so there are no hidden gatekeepers.

Yelp and Google try to be everything. Genesis has one focus: local people who actually make what they sell. No paid placement. No corporate listings. Just neighbors helping neighbors find real food and real makers.

Genesis started as a small project built out of frustration with a broken food system. It's being built openly, market by market, by people who believe local food should serve communities, not shareholders.
